Dear Falcon Parents/Guardians,
September has flown by, and on Tuesday, we welcome October! I’d like to begin by thanking all of you for your continued support of our staff and community. Next week is Homecoming, and we’re excited about the events we have planned. We encourage as many Falcons as possible to get involved—please check out the schedule of activities!
We’re also looking forward to a great turnout for our first Parent-Teacher Conference next Thursday. It’s always a pleasure to meet with you and discuss the progress of our students.
Parent/Teacher Conferences: We sent out instructions on how to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences this week. The window to register for conferences opened up on Tuesday, September 17 and will stay open through Monday, September 30. Parent teacher conferences will be held in person on October 3rd and October 17th from 3:15 – 7:45 p.m. (Translators will be available)

A quick reminder that we are nearly halfway through the semester, with just nine and a half weeks remaining. Please encourage your students to regularly check Schoology and Infinite Campus for any missing assignments to ensure they stay on track and avoid surprises as we approach the end of the semester.
Spirit Week: Homecoming Week Activities and Themes. Next week is Homecoming Week, packed with exciting activities! Below are the spirit themes for each day. Please remember, as always, that all clothing should be school-appropriate.
Monday
- 7:00 PM – Dodgeball Tournament in the Big Gym (Staff vs. Students)
- Spirit Day: Album Day – Show support for your favorite band or album!
Tuesday
- 4:00 PM – Volleyball vs. Horizon (Theme: Neon/Tie Dye)
- 4:00 PM – Softball vs. Horizon (No Theme)
- Spirit Day: Jersey Day – Rep your favorite team (college or professional)!
Wednesday
- 6:00 PM – Booster Club Tailgate @ Skyline High School (SE last row of the parking lot, parallel to Mountain View)
- 7:00 PM – PowderPuff Game (Location: SHS Turf Field)
- Spirit Day: Twin Day – Partner up and dress the same!

AAA: We are excited for the beginning of the first session of AAA (Achievement Acceleration Academy) for the 2024-2025 school year. Through Achievement Acceleration Academy (AAA), students will strengthen their math skills centering around competencies during this extended day opportunity. Academic proficiency is an important district goal for our students. Research shows that extended school day learning opportunities positively affect student success. Students will receive small classroom instruction from high-quality St. Vrain teachers, allowing them to move towards grade level proficiencies. Below are some key points about the program.
Achievement Acceleration Academy program includes:
- Sixty minutes of targeted instruction in math for all grade levels.
- In addition, some students may have support focused on high school expectations and executive functioning.
- Daily snacks will be provided.
- There is no cost to families.
Dates & Times:
- September 30 to December 13, 2024 from 2:50 p.m.— 3:50 p.m.
- Mon-Thurs 2:50-3:50 4 hours/weekly Room 256
- Thursdays 3:00-5:00 2 hours/ weekly Room 239
- Lunch 12:30-1:00 (Mon- Thurs) 2 hours/weekly Room 219
**Please note we will not be meeting on October 3rd or September 17th due to parent teacher conferences.
Important Reminders:
- PSAT/NMSQT & Practice SAT tests: Skyline is excited to administer our first round of SAT/PSAT testing on October 9th. This is the official testing date for juniors to complete the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT), and we will administer a practice SAT test for our freshmen and sophomores. The senior class will have a day of asynchronous learning on October 9th. We will provide additional details and information about this testing administration as we get closer to the testing date, but please save the date in preparation for this important testing administration.
- Four Day Weekend: Please mark your calendars for the four-day weekend from Friday, October 11 through Monday, October 14.
- Code of Conduct: Please review the updated Code of Conduct and complete the parent acknowledgment online.
- Animals on Campus: This is a reminder that animals are not allowed on the Skyline campus during school hours or at any extracurricular events. This policy is in place to ensure the safety of our students.

If you missed Picture Day we will have a Retake Day on Friday, Oct. 4th.
Ways to order:
View/order online at mylifetouch.com – just enter your child’s ID number and can view/purchase photos from there. Orders ship directly to your home.
Or you can wait 1-2 weeks and will receive the paper proof photo sheet from your initial shipment of first picture day pictures.

The following SHS and SVVSD staff members were selected by individual girls’ volleyball players to be honored for all they do and for the positive impact they’ve made in their lives at this week’s game.
Booster Club
Fall is in the air and we have Homecoming week on our mind! We’re so excited to continue supporting all of our fall sports athletes as well as the rest of the Skyline student body by hosting a Booster sponsored FREE BBQ before the Powder Puff football game on Wednesday, October 2nd. Students, come meet us in the parking lot to decorate your vehicles with Skyline Spirit and grab some food from the grill at 6 pm.
