Message from Principal
Skyline Families,
As we welcome the month of May, I can hardly believe we’re in the final stretch of the school year! Our seniors have just two weeks left, and the rest of our students have only three short weeks to go.
This is such an important time to stay focused, stay present, and give it our all. I encourage every Falcon to finish strong and support one another as we wrap up the year on a high note. Let’s soar to the finish, Falcons!
Next week is Staff Appreciation Week, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to recognize the incredible teachers and staff who go above and beyond every day for our students.
We’d love your help in showing them just how much they’re appreciated! If you’re able, please consider sending in a treat, snack or a gift card for a teacher or staff member—along with a kind note from you or your student. These small gestures of appreciation make a big impact and truly brighten their day.
Thank you for helping us celebrate the amazing people who make Skyline such a special place!
AP exams start on Monday: This is a reminder for students taking AP exams this spring, they will begin on Monday. Students received communication from Ms. Heiser with days/dates/times for their exams.
Falcons Demonstrate Excellence: We are incredibly proud to celebrate two exceptional Falcons for their well-deserved recognition from the Longmont Rotary! Senior Brayden Strock received the Slick Haley Award, a testament to his remarkable leadership as a multi-sport captain and his unwavering resilience in maintaining a 4.451 GPA while supporting his family through significant personal hardship. Alongside him, Daisy Viera-Simental was honored with the Kindness Award for her extensive service as a student leader, including her roles as DECA Vice President of Finance, a Summer Bridge mentor, and a dedicated representative on the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council. Both students embody the spirit of excellence and character that defines Skyline High School!

Art students continue to Shine: A massive congratulations to our talented young Falcon artists—Chloe Zamora, Mimi Turrill, Lexi Hill, and Kylie Paul—who had their work selected for this year’s prestigious Congressional Art Competition! Their incredible pieces hung at the Longmont Public Library from April 21st through April 29th, showcasing their creativity to the entire community. We were so proud of these students as they moved toward the Awards Reception, which celebrated their achievements on the evening of April 30th.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Guys and Dolls!: Huge congratulations to all of our performers on three wonderful performances last week! We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication everyone poured into this production.
Ultimate Frisbee still undefeated: Our Falcons made history this past Sunday at the Spring Mid-season tournament at Monarch High School, capturing the championship title for the first time in program history! After a grueling five-game marathon, the team proved their dominance by defeating Monarch, Lakewood, Northfield, and a tough Fort Collins club team to reach the finals. In a thrilling championship showdown against Arapahoe High School, our squad showed incredible heart by clinching the victory on a high-stakes “Universe Point” in overtime. We are beyond proud of the hard work and grit these athletes poured into the season, and celebrating this historic milestone with the team photo right after that final win was the perfect end to an unforgettable day!

DECA region 7 representative: We are so proud to announce that Marely Villanueva served as the Region 7 Delegate for the state of Colorado at the National DECA Convention in Atlanta this past weekend! In this prestigious role, she represented both Skyline High School and the entire state on the national stage. It was an incredible opportunity to watch her compete and lead, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with her achievements!

Last student days for CETC & IC: CETC & IC last class days for underclassmen will be May 15th for A day students and May 18th for B day students. Seniors will finish all classes at the same time on May 14th.
Important iPad information: If your student is staying in SVVSD next academic school year, they will be taking their iPads home over the summer. If your student will be transferring out of SVVSD, iPads must be returned to the library by May 21, 2026. Parents may still purchase iPad insurance. Paying these fees will cover the iPad in case it gets damaged during the summer. Students’ current iPad insurance must be paid in full to be eligible for insurance the following year.
Registration reminders:This is an exciting time as we get ready for the 2026-2027 school year, and we are here to support you every step of the way. Below are important dates and reminders to guide you and your student through the process.

Also, please remember that absences must be excused within 48 hours. If you have any questions or concerns, students should reach out to their assistant principal as soon as possible. ParentSquare: Our New District Communication Tool
St. Vrain Valley Schools will begin using ParentSquare, a new district communication tool that allows families to receive notifications based on their preferences. St. Vrain’s communications team will pilot ParentSquare for the remainder of the school year with the plan to expand access to schools at the start of the 2026-27 school year. We’re excited about the opportunities ParentSquare offers to streamline communication and will be working towards consolidating several of the tools families currently use into one convenient platform.
Parents and guardians received an email invitation to activate their ParentSquare account. This will allow families to download the mobile app, set language preferences, and choose how and when they receive notifications.
