Message from Principal

Dear Skyline Families,

It is exciting to see our students continue to engage in their classes! This week 225 students completed the reading, writing and listening portions of ACCESS testing to show progress on their language skills and acquisition. We also have an impressive number of students taking advantage of time with teachers in order to bolster skills. We have seen a renewed commitment by our students and we will continue to push them towards excellence this semester.

Tribute to teachers:  Each year the St. Vrain Valley Education Foundation honors outstanding educators from around the district.  If you would like to nominate an outstanding teacher from Skyline, here is your opportunity to do so.  Please click on the link below and nominate a teacher from Skyline.

https://stvrainfoundation.org/programs/celebration-of-excellence/celebration-of-excellence-nomination/  The nominations are DUE by February 5th.

Attendance Update:  Attendance is essential for our students’ success. Starting this week, we will update our tardy policy: students with 5 tardies in a week will receive lunch detention. This averages to one tardy per day. These updated expectations were shared with students during advisory classes prior to break. Thank you for your support in reinforcing the importance of being on time!

Prom & Attendance Update:  Any students who are planning on attending the Junior/Senior Prom on Saturday, April 12  will be allowed to have no more than 5 days of unexcused absences (4 period absences equals 1 day) and/or 25 tardies beginning January 24, 2025  in the 12 weeks leading up to Prom.  Reminder, absences must be excused within 48 hours of the absence.

December Students of the Month:  Please join us in congratulating our December Students of the Month who were selected by their teachers.

December Student/Athletes of the Month:  Please join us in congratulating our students who were selected by their teachers.

Girls Swimming “You make a difference event” : The following SHS staff members were selected by individual swimmers to be honored for all they do and the positive impact they’ve made in their lives at Wednesday’s last home swim meet.

Important Reminders:

  • MLK Day: There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 20th, in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
  • Parent-Teacher Conferences: Save the dates! Conferences will take place on Wednesday, February 12th, and Thursday, February 13th. The link to signup and reserve your times will open Friday, January 24th @ 12pm.
