Message from Principal

Dear Skyline Families,

We hope you had a well-deserved break and enjoyed quality time with your families! As we return, time is flying—only eight weeks remain in the semester, and six and a half weeks for our seniors. This is the final stretch, and every moment counts!

Now is the time to focus on grades, attendance, and building strong habits to finish the year on a high note. We’ve seen incredible dedication from our students, and we know you have what it takes to push through and achieve your goals.

Let’s stay engaged during our final stretch for the semester, work hard, and make these last weeks truly count. We’re proud of our Falcons—let’s finish the year strong!

Skyline TOY announced: Please join the Skyline community in congratulating our 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year, Mr. Kevin Toeneboehn! Your dedication and impact are truly inspiring—well deserved!

Proud Moment for Skyline High School – National Merit Scholarship Recipient:  We are thrilled to share some wonderful news with our school community! The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) has officially announced that Ashley M. Berkowitz has been selected as a recipient of a National Merit Corporate-Sponsored Scholarship.  This prestigious honor is awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. Ashley’s hard work and dedication have placed Ash among the top tier of students nationwide, and we couldn’t be prouder to have Ash representing Skyline High School.

Granite Peaks Rotary Student of the Month:  We are thrilled to invite the entire Skyline High School community to join us in a huge round of applause for Dylan Witzel for his truly remarkable achievements! As a dedicated two-sport athlete, Dylan has demonstrated incredible grit on the field, but his accomplishments in the classroom are equally inspiring; in just four short weeks, he will be graduating not only from high school but also with his Associate Degree in Computer Information Systems. Balancing the demands of competitive sports with a rigorous college-level tech curriculum is a phenomenal feat that speaks volumes about his character and work ethic.

New Skyline Stadium on the horizon:  The Skyline Stadium made some major strides over spring break with the movement of our light poles and staging for our stadium. With a targeted completion date set for the summer of 2026, exciting improvements are on the way!  A huge thank you to everyone involved in this project and to our community—your support in passing the bond has helped accelerate this process. We appreciate your commitment to enhancing Skyline’s facilities!

Save the Date for our spring play – Guys and Dolls!:  Set in the bustling streets of Dave Runyon’s 1948 New York City, this “Oddball Comedy” follows the high-stakes world of gambler Nathan Detroit and his long-suffering fiancée of 14 years, Miss Adelaide. When Nathan bets fellow gambler Sky Masterson that he can’t woo the straight-laced Salvation Army Mission worker Sarah Brown, the stakes rise from the sewers of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba. Featuring iconic songs like “Luck Be a Lady” and “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat,” this production showcases the incredible talent of the   Skyline Performing Arts Academy from spotlight to stage wings to orchestra pit!  Join us for an evening of romance, comedy, and show-stopping musical numbers!  You can purchase tickets for the shows on April 23, April 24 & April 25 using this LINK.

Granite Peaks All-Star: Please join us in a huge round of applause for junior Michael Thalacker on his well-deserved selection for the 2026 Granite Peaks League All-Star Basketball Game! This prestigious invitation, attached to this message, is a direct reflection of the incredible hard work, skill, and sportsmanship Michael has demonstrated on the court all season long. We are incredibly proud to have him representing the Falcons among the league’s top talent, and we can’t wait to see him showcase his game at this elite level. Congratulations, Michael, on this fantastic achievement—the entire Skyline community is rooting for you!

Falcons Demonstrate Democratic Excellence:  Ahead of our well-deserved spring break, we are excited to celebrate our Skyline students for their active participation in Doing Democracy Day! This unique, hands-on event allowed our students to step into the roles of community leaders and policymakers, engaging directly with real-world issues and practicing the civil discourse necessary for a thriving democracy. We are especially proud to announce that Skyline had two of its students participate on the winning team, demonstrating exceptional leadership and collaborative skills among their peers from across the region. It was an inspiring way to wrap up the term, and we hope this experience empowers all of our participants to continue making their voices heard.

Prom & Attendance Update:  Any students who are planning on attending the Junior/Senior Prom on Saturday, April 18 will be allowed to have no more than 5 days of unexcused absences (4 period absences equals 1 day) and/or 25 tardies beginning January 26, 2026 in the 12 weeks leading up to Prom.  Reminder, absences must be excused within 48 hours of the absence.

ParentSquare: Our New District Communication Tool

St. Vrain Valley Schools will begin using ParentSquare, a new district communication tool that allows families to receive notifications based on their preferences. St. Vrain’s communications team will pilot ParentSquare for the remainder of the school year with the plan to expand access to schools at the start of the 2026-27 school year. We’re excited about the opportunities ParentSquare offers to streamline communication and will be working towards consolidating several of the tools families currently use into one convenient platform.

After spring break, parents and guardians will receive an email invitation to activate their ParentSquare account. This will allow families to download the mobile app, set language preferences, and choose how and when they receive notifications.

Visit the district website to learn more about ParentSquare.
