Message from Principal
Dear Falcon Parents/Guardians,
We had a fantastic and productive week here at Skyline, even with the shorter schedule! Our momentum as a learning community continues to build, and I want to express my sincere thanks for your unwavering support and commitment to our students. This past Tuesday officially marked the start of the second half of the semester—a great opportunity for a fresh start! As grades are continuously posted and updated in Infinite Campus, I strongly encourage you to use this moment to reflect with your student. This essential conversation is where the real growth happens: take time to discuss what is going well (and celebrate those wins!), identify areas that need a strategic tune-up, and work together to set clear, ambitious goals for the remainder of the semester. Let’s make this next half the strongest one yet!
We want to showcase the outstanding talent of two of our very own! Please join us in congratulating Fernando Gurrola and Shea Archie, who successfully auditioned and were selected for the Western States Honor Orchestra. This is a highly selective honor that brings together top student musicians from across the region. Fernando and Shea will showcase their skills in a concert at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) on November 8th. Their achievement truly reflects the excellence of our music program!
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievement of our 13 Visual Arts Capstone Seniors, who served the Skyline community so well at last week’s Longmont Día de los Muertos event. As a culmination of their advanced studio work, our seniors joined the city-wide procession alongside a massive, awe-inspiring “gigante” eagle—a piece of community artwork they helped construct under the guidance of local artist, Joy Giddens. This hands-on project provided a powerful opportunity for our students to connect their artistic practice with cultural heritage and public celebration. Seeing their artistry and collaboration featured so prominently in this important community event was truly special!
