CHSAA Mariachi Festival
Attention Skyline! Tonight Friday February 23rd at 6:00pm we’re are hosting the professional mariachi Las Dahlias! This event is open to the public and we hope you are able to come. Skyline Mariachi Students get in for free! All other tickets are $10 per adult, $6 for students.

Las Dahlias is a Colorado-based female music group that performs music from our Mexican and LatinX heritage. The group performs Mariachi repertoire, music from or inspired by Latin America and a few original works. Las Dahlias consists of five members with a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and music careers. The instrumentation of the group includes three violins, a vihuela, and a guitarron. The mission of Las Dahlias is to promote female representation and share music of Mexican influence throughout the state of Colorado. Career highlights include performances at the Inaugural Ball of Jared Polis, the Governor’s Mansion for leaders in the LatinX community, the Crested Butte Music Festival, and the Major League Baseball All-Star Week.”

Student Directed One Act Plays

Join us to our Student Directed One Act Plays Friday, March 1st beginning @ 6pm.
Tickets are $5 for students, $10 for adults, and will be sold at lunch and at the door the night of the event.

Parent/Teacher Conferences
We are excited to invite you to our second night of SHS Parent Conferences on Thursday, March 7th. These conferences are a valuable opportunity for us to collaborate and discuss your child’s academic progress, social development, and overall learning experience.
Virtual Conferences are from 3:15pm-5:15pm.
In-person Conferences are from 6:00pm-7:45pm (Translators available at the office)

Hispanic Education Foundation Dinner Night Out!
The Hispanic Education Foundation is hosting a Dinner Night Out at Chipotle on Main on Wednesday, 3/13 from 4-8pm. We would appreciate your support in spreading the word about this event.

Join Dr. Devorah Heitner for a conversation on “Growing Up in Public”, presented by DTS and SVVS Parent University on March 6 from 5:00-6:30pm
If you’ve ever said “I’m so glad my teenage years weren’t shared for the world to see,” this talk is for you! With social media and constant connection, the boundaries of privacy for children are stretched thin.Growing Up in Public shows parents how to help tweens and teens navigate boundaries, identity, privacy, and reputation in their digital world.
Dr. Devorah Heitner is the author of Growing Up in Public: Coming of Age in a Digital World and Screenwise: Helping Kids Thrive (and Survive) in Their Digital World. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and CNN Opinion. She has a Ph.D. in Media/Technology & Society from Northwestern University and has taught at DePaul and Northwestern. She is delighted to be raising her own teenager and she lives with her family in Chicagoland. You can follow her on Substack and on Instagram @devorahheitnerphd.

SHS Falcon Career Talks Spring 2024
Every semester we have a week of SHS Falcon Career Talks when we invite members of our community to come to Skyline and speak to our freshmen about their occupations. For some students, this experience can be life-changing because it sparks their interest in a career they didn’t know about before, which empowers them to be invested in school and their futures. If you or someone you know might be interested in coming to our school to speak (it is tentatively planned for the first full week of March, 2024), please fill in the form and we will contact you with more details!
