Message from Principal

Dear Skyline Families,

As we approach the final stretch of the semester, we encourage our students to stay focused on academic progress, maintain strong attendance, and develop productive habits that will set them up for a successful finish. With only seven weeks remaining in the semester—and five and a half for our seniors—each day presents an opportunity for growth and achievement.

To support students in this final phase, we will be holding class meetings throughout April:

  • Seniors will meet on April 8th to review key dates and important information for the remainder of the year.
  • Freshmen will have meetings during their classes on April 6th and April 7th to reinforce expectations and support their academic success.
  • Sophomores and Juniors both met in February as we began preparing for their transition into next year.

We appreciate your partnership in supporting your student’s success. Please encourage them to stay engaged, complete assignments on time, and seek support when needed. Your involvement plays a vital role in helping them finish the year strong and prepared for the next steps in their academic journey. Thank you for your continued support—we look forward to celebrating their hard work and accomplishments in the weeks ahead!

Proud Moment for Skyline High School – National Thespian Qualifiers:  We are thrilled to announce that three Skyline students— Ash Portillo, Raine Schwartz, and Taben Swain—have qualified for the National Thespian Conference this summer! They will be traveling to Indiana State University to represent our school on a national stage. Please join us in congratulating these talented performers on this incredible achievement!  Go Falcons!

Falcons Demonstrate Excellence:  We are bursting with Falcon pride as we celebrate two incredible members of our community for their recent high-level achievements!

Please join us in congratulating student Daisy Viera-Simental, who has been selected by Front Range Community College (FRCC) to receive a prestigious award for her excellence as a Concurrent Enrollment student, leader, and community member. Daisy will be officially honored at the FRCC Student Award event this April. We also want to celebrate staff member Katie Strock, who has been selected by the Supreme Court Historical Society to attend the 2026 Supreme Court Summer Institute in Washington, D.C., this June. In an extremely competitive year with nearly four times as many applicants as available spots, Katie’s selection is a massive honor. We are thrilled to have her representing Skyline at the national level. Congratulations to both Daisy and Katie on these outstanding milestones!

Important Testing Dates:   As we approach the final stretch of the 2025-2026 school year, we want to highlight the importance of upcoming state assessments and the valuable opportunity they provide for students to demonstrate their learning and academic growth. These assessments serve as key indicators of the knowledge and skills students have developed throughout the year, and we encourage all students to give their best effort.

Please take note of the following important testing dates:

  • Juniors:
    • Tuesday, April 14 – SAT
    • Friday, April 17 – CMAS Science (11th Grade)
  • Freshmen & Sophomores:
    • Wednesday, April 15 – Practice SAT

These assessments play a vital role in preparing students for future academic success, including college readiness and career pathways. We appreciate your support in ensuring students are well-prepared, well-rested, and ready to showcase their hard work. Thank you for your partnership in helping our students succeed!

Save the Date for our spring play – Guys and Dolls!:  Set in the bustling streets of Dave Runyon’s 1948 New York City, this “Oddball Comedy” follows the high-stakes world of gambler Nathan Detroit and his long-suffering fiancée of 14 years, Miss Adelaide. When Nathan bets fellow gambler Sky Masterson that he can’t woo the straight-laced Salvation Army Mission worker Sarah Brown, the stakes rise from the sewers of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba. Featuring iconic songs like “Luck Be a Lady” and “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat,” this production showcases the incredible talent of the   Skyline Performing Arts Academy from spotlight to stage wings to orchestra pit!  Join us for an evening of romance, comedy, and show-stopping musical numbers!  You can purchase tickets for the shows on April 23, April 24 & April 25 using this LINK.

ParentSquare: Our New District Communication Tool

St. Vrain Valley Schools will begin using ParentSquare, a new district communication tool that allows families to receive notifications based on their preferences. St. Vrain’s communications team will pilot ParentSquare for the remainder of the school year with the plan to expand access to schools at the start of the 2026-27 school year. We’re excited about the opportunities ParentSquare offers to streamline communication and will be working towards consolidating several of the tools families currently use into one convenient platform.

After spring break, parents and guardians will receive an email invitation to activate their ParentSquare account. This will allow families to download the mobile app, set language preferences, and choose how and when they receive notifications.

Visit the district website to learn more about ParentSquare.

iPad Insurance and Fees

Students can still add iPad Insurance, just bring your iPad up to the Library to be inspected by Mrs. Sebring. After inspected the fee will be added in Infinite Campus, and parents can pay either online or in the main office.

For only $12.50 for Semester 2 only, your student’s iPad and case are covered. If there is damage to the case or to the iPad and you do not have insurance, your fees could be between $250-$550 dollars.

Payments can be made online through Infinite Campus under Fees (preferred) or in person at the office card or exact cash only (change is not available)

The iPad insurance fee will be reduced or waived for students eligible for a free or reduced price lunch under the federal poverty income guidelines and homeless students as defined by McKinney-Vento.
