Message from Principal

Welcome Back, Skyline Falcons!

I hope you and your family have enjoyed a restful, joyful, and well-deserved summer break! As we prepare to kick off another exciting year at Skyline High School, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome back to all of our returning students and families—and a special Falcon welcome to those who are new to our community this fall. I’m thrilled to begin this new school year with you and can’t wait to see all the energy, talent, and passion our students bring to campus.

Our school year officially begins with Freshman Orientation Day on Wednesday, August 13th, followed by the First day of classes for ALL students on Thursday, August 14th. The start of a new school year is always a special moment, and I’m excited to once again see our hallways buzzing with Falcon pride, laughter, and learning.

Skyline High School is a place where students can soar—whether their passions lie in academics, athletics, the arts, leadership, innovation, or service. We are proud of our diverse and inclusive community that celebrates the whole child. With incredible educators and a culture of care, we’re committed to helping each and every student thrive and grow into their best self—both in the classroom and beyond.

As we launch into the fall semester, I encourage all students to come in with a strong mindset: set goals, stay organized, ask for help when needed, and make every day count. Starting strong sets the tone for long-term success—and remember, your Skyline staff is here to support you every step of the way.

In this newsletter, you’ll find important information to help ensure a smooth and successful start to the school year. Please take a few minutes to read through it carefully. And don’t forget to check our weekly family newsletter, which will be your go-to source for updates, celebrations, upcoming events, and all things Skyline throughout the year.

We are so excited to welcome all of our Skyline Falcons back next week! This is going to be an incredible year filled with new opportunities, shared successes, and unforgettable moments. In the meantime, enjoy the last days of summer and please reach out with any questions you may have.

#WeAreSkylineEveryDay

Important iPad Updates for the 2025–2026 School Year

St. Vrain’s District Technology Services has made several updates to student iPads for the upcoming school year to support a focused and secure digital learning environment both at school and at home. One key update is the implementation of a new internet filter, Securely, which adds an extra layer of protection to iPads by blocking certain types of websites.

For more information about these updates – and what they mean for your child’s device — please click here

SHS iPad Update and we are Going Cell Phone-Free During Class Time

Skyline sent out information a number of times this summer in order to outline our Cell Phone Norms and expectations.  In case you missed those communications below is what was shared with our community.  * = new information.

Dear Skyline Families,

At Skyline High School, we are dedicated to providing the best possible learning environment where every student can thrive academically. Research and our own experience show that limiting cell phone use during instructional time helps students stay focused, engaged, and ready to succeed.  Please click on this link to access the classroom norm.  As a district we have updated the iPad settings for all secondary students.  Please click on this link to access our letter outlining these changes.

To support this, SHS will be implementing a school-wide cell phone-free norm during class time. At the start of each class period, students will store their phones in a designated area—such as their backpack in the classroom—and retrieve them at the end of class. This simple shift will help maximize learning and minimize distractions.

If you need to reach your student during the day, please contact our main office at (720) 494-3741, and we’ll ensure they get your message.

If a student does not follow this expectation, we will utilize the *district’s adopted practice for responsible use of technology and also meet with an administrator to review expectations.  We will also review these with every student during the first days of school.

Thank you for partnering with us to build a focused, productive, and academically rich environment for all students. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us—we’re here to support you. Go Falcons!
