Message from Principal
Dear Skyline Families,
This week, our amazing students rose to the challenge and gave their all on the SAT and PSAT — a major milestone on their path toward future success! We’re so proud of their effort, focus, and determination throughout the testing process. Way to go, Falcons!
As we enter the final stretch of the semester, this is the perfect time to stay focused and finish strong. With just six weeks remaining — and only four and a half for our seniors — each day is an opportunity for growth, progress, and achievement.
Let’s continue to encourage our students to:
- Stay on top of their academic goals
- Maintain strong attendance
- Build productive habits
- Reach out for support when needed
SAT Testing: Excellent job by our junior class on Tuesday as we had a 92% participation rate for our SAT test! This is the highest first day participation rate we have seen in a number of years. We are extremely proud of this group and we cannot wait to see the results for their hard work!
Art Show: The District Art Show closes April 22nd, 2025 at the Boulder County Fairground Exhibition Hall. The Exhibit is open to the public until April 20th. Please make sure to visit the Skyline exhibit to see all of the wonderful art on display by our talented Falcons.

Visual Arts Shine: Our ceramics students created and donated 44 bowls to the OUR Center’s Empty Bowls fundraiser on February 28.
Friday was the awards ceremony for the 2nd Congressional Art Competition. Skyline easily had the most entries in the congressional district–it is currently hanging at the Longmont Art Museum Per Max Coker, field representative for Joe Neguse:
“So excited to have several students interested from Skyline, I’m a big fan of your art program. I think it’s the best in our District!”
CJ Winters was selected (below left) 4th place overall and her piece will be hanging for the next year at the Boulder Office: 2503 Walnut St #300, Boulder, CO 80302
Nellie Lozoya was the only student in our district to enter the Cundall Art Scholarship and she earned $5000! Nellie will be attending UNC in the fall.
Hexxus Hunter earned $80,000 to the School of Art Institute of Chicago where they will start in the fall!
Class meetings: The end of the year is quickly approaching! In an effort to support our students as we enter this final stretch, we are holding (or we held, depending on timing) class meetings throughout the month of April:
- Seniors held their first meeting on April 9th to review key dates and important information for the remainder of the year. Please check the website as all of the information shared during this meeting was also posted on Wednesday of this week.
- Freshmen and sophomores held meetings during their classes on April 7th and April 8th to reinforce expectations and support their academic success.
Juniors will meet on April 30th as we begin preparing for their transition into senior year.
Prom: We had an amazing night last Saturday with our students at prom. We followed up with a great time at the after prom event at the Longmont Rec Center which was sponsored by our fantastic booster club.

- May 15, 2025: Student Schedules Released. Mark your calendars! Student schedules for the 2025-2026 school year will be available starting May 15, 2025.
Attendance: Attendance is key to success. We have limited time until the end of the school year. Please make sure your students are here and on time. Also, please remember that absences must be excused within 48 hours. If you have any questions or concerns, students should reach out to their assistant principal as soon as possible. Let’s work together to make prom a night to remember!
Thank you for your continued partnership as we step into the new year with inspiration and purpose.

Sincerely,
Anthony Barela
