Message from Principal
Dear Falcon Parents/Guardians,
We had another fantastic week of learning at Skyline! This week, we had two major events that highlighted the outstanding work happening within our feeder to foster excellence for our students.
The first event took place last Saturday at the St. Vrain Valley School District parade. The Skyline Feeder proudly showcased our exceptional Visual & Performing Arts Academy, with the Skyline Mariachi group performing as part of the VPA float. We also celebrated our students pursuing the State Seal of Biliteracy—nearly 60 students in our feeder have earned this prestigious designation from the state of Colorado. Additionally, we highlighted our remarkable robotics, P-TECH, and STEM students. Our contingency also included representatives from athletics, cheerleading, student council, and our ultimate frisbee team. It was a fantastic day!
The second event was hosting Dr. Don Haddad on Monday for a Town Hall meeting.
Our students are settling into the rhythm of school and working hard in their classes. As we continue through the school year, it’s important to stay focused on both grades and attendance. Attendance is a key predictor of success, and we expect students to be present and on time every day, ready to learn.
Please make sure to regularly check grades and attendance in Infinite Campus, and remember that assignments are posted in Schoology—an excellent resource for staying informed about what’s happening in your student’s classes.
Parent/Teacher Conferences: We will be sending out instructions on how to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences next week. Please look for that email next Tuesday. The window to register for conferences will open up on Tuesday, September 17 and will stay open through Monday, September 30. Parent teacher conferences will be held in person on October 3 and October 17 from 3:15 – 7:45 p.m.
Important Reminders:
- Code of Conduct: Please review the updated Code of Conduct and complete the parent acknowledgment online.
Animals on Campus: This is a reminder that animals are not allowed on the Skyline campus during school hours or at any extracurricular events. This policy is in place to ensure the safety of our students.
We are here to support you and your family. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of our administrative team.
Sincerely,
Anthony Barela
Principal, Skyline High School
