Message from Principal

Dear Falcon Parents/Guardians,

We just wrapped up another incredibly powerful week here at Skyline! The commitment and synergy among our students, staff, and families are palpable, accelerating our momentum as a true learning community.

Now is the moment for sharp focus: with this week concluded, we are left with only six highly critical weeks remaining in the semester. This tight window demands that our three-way partnership locks in immediately to ensure every single student converts their current efforts into their strongest possible final outcomes.

Our students also impressed us in the annual door decorating competition, with Advisory classes collaborating on wonderfully creative designs. It’s always a joy to see such teamwork and artistic expression.

Falcons continue to demonstrate excellence!

Wyatt Rickman recognized as Twin Peaks Rotary Student of the Month for his commitment to community service and inclusion.

We have some outstanding highlights to celebrate from the past week. First, a huge shout-out to James Flores, who qualified for the State Cross Country meet and will compete this Saturday. Please join us in sending James the very best of luck as he represents Skyline!

We also extend a massive congratulations to all our Fall sports athletes in Cross Country, Softball, Volleyball, Boys Soccer, and Football for a great effort and a wonderful season! Thank you for your commitment to Skyline athletics.

A huge round of applause also goes out to our dedicated Performing Arts students across Band, Orchestra, Mariachi, and Choir. Your commitment to practicing and performing brings so much life and richness to our school community!

Last Friday night, a number of Skyline clubs showed up in full force to support our feeder middle school at the Timberline Trunk or Treat event, demonstrating incredible school spirit and community partnership. Last Saturday, our students brought incredible spirit and talent to the annual Longmont Halloween Parade. Our cheerleaders led the way, followed by the entire feeder band who put on a spectacular performance, marching together with students from Trail Ridge and Timberline under the direction of Tucker Ewer. We also had a magnificent showing from our talented Thespians as they marched to showcase our upcoming student-directed one-act plays.

Finally, our Robotics teams continue their tradition of success, excelling at the local competition level.

As the fall sports season winds down, please strongly encourage your students to get involved in any of the many extracurricular opportunities available here at Skyline—remember, life is not a spectator sport!

Let’s continue encouraging students to balance academics with involvement in extracurriculars at Skyline. Together, we’re building a foundation for every student’s success. Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support. #WeAreSkylineEveryDay!

Sincerely,

Anthony Barela
Principal, Skyline High School
