Principal Update:
The success of our school would not be possible without the support from our parents, teachers, and students. Thank you for everything you do to make Skyline High School such a great environment for our students to grow and thrive. As you know, Principal Heidi Ringer will be leaving Skyline High School at the end of the school year. We are grateful for her outstanding leadership and tireless support of our students, staff, and families in the Skyline community over the past 27 years as both a teacher and administrator.
We are pleased to share that Anthony Barela will be the new principal of Skyline High School beginning with the 2024-2025 academic year. We are fortunate to welcome Mr. Barela, who already holds a position as the Principal of Sunset Middle School in St. Vrain Valley Schools since 2018. Prior to his current role, he served as a high school principal in Vista Unified School District, Vista, CA for five years. Throughout his career, Mr. Barela has held various school administration roles, including principalships at all three levels – elementary, middle, and high school. Earlier in his career, Mr. Barela taught high school science in Durango, CO and Carlsbad, CA where he also coached football and wrestling. Mr. Barela holds a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from California State University San Marcos and a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Fort Lewis College, where he also earned his teaching credential.
We look forward to welcoming Mr. Barela to the Skyline community and will share information about opportunities for you to meet him as he begins to visit Skyline High School in preparation for our next school year. We also want to thank the hiring committee which included parents, staff, and district leadership. Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

For some students, this experience can be life-changing because it sparks their interest in a career they didn’t know about before, which empowers them to be invested in school and their futures. If you or someone you know might be interested in coming to our school to speak (it is tentatively planned for the first full week of March, 2024), please fill in the form and we will contact you with more details!
