Kaela Hellmann grew up in Palisade, Colorado, and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana, where she also played college volleyball. After graduating, she returned to school and received her Master's in Teaching Math and Science from Seattle Pacific University. Kaela then taught at Garfield High School in Seattle, WA, for two years before starting her teaching career at Skyline High School in 2019.
