Bio
Jennifer McLees has been teaching art at Skyline since 1998 and loves it! While she has taught everything from Drawing to Painting and Sculpture, most of her classes now focus on Ceramics and 3D Design. As well, she serves as one of Skyline’s VPA coordinators and as the primary sponsor for Skyline’s chapter of NAHS (National Art Honor Society). Ms. McLees graduated from CU Boulder in 1996 with a double major in psychology and fine art, as well as a certificate to teach K12 Art. As part of her undergraduate studies, she also traveled for one year internationally with the national youth service organization, Up With People. She came to Skyline in 1998 and since has also completed her graduate studies in Art and Art Education at UNC, Greeley. Her thesis, titled “Igniting the Creative Process: A Contemporary Approach through Play, Personal Narrative and Universal Themes” was published in the fall of 2010. Outside of teaching, Ms. McLees continues her practice as a professional artist and hopes some day, when her daughter is older, to display her artwork more regularly and have her ceramic sculpture displayed on the national level in “Ceramics Monthly” magazine.
