Bio

Jennifer McLees has been an art educator at Skyline High School since 1998 and loves every moment of it. While she has taught a wide range of subjects, including Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture, her current focus is primarily on Ceramics and 3D Design. In addition to teaching, Ms. McLees serves as one of Skyline's Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) coordinators and is the lead sponsor for the school's chapter of the National Art Honor Society (NAHS).

Ms. McLees graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1996 with a double major in Psychology and Fine Art, along with a certification to teach K-12 Art. During her undergraduate years, she also spent a year traveling internationally with the national youth service organization, Up With People.

Since joining Skyline, Ms. McLees has earned her graduate degree in Art and Art Education from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley. Her graduate thesis, *Igniting the Creative Process: A Contemporary Approach through Play, Personal Narrative, and Universal Themes*, was published in the fall of 2010.

Outside of her teaching career, Ms. McLees enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors as much as possible, and continues to pursue her passion as a professional artist.
