Anthony Barela became the principal of Skyline High School for the 2024-2025 academic year after serving as the principal at Sunset Middle School in St. Vrain Valley Schools since 2018. Prior to that, he was a high school principal in the Vista Unified School District in Vista, CA, for five years. Over the course of his career, Mr. Barela has held administrative roles at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Earlier, he taught high school science in Durango, CO, and Carlsbad, CA, while also coaching football and wrestling. He holds a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from California State University San Marcos and a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Fort Lewis College, where he also earned his teaching credential.
