Message from Principal
Dear Falcon Parents/Guardians,
This week has been an incredible Homecoming Week, filled with Falcon spirit and pride! We’ve hosted a variety of exciting events that truly brought our Skyline community together.
On Monday, students celebrated their favorite musicians by showcasing their top bands or albums for Album Day. We also had the much-anticipated staff vs. students dodgeball tournament, where the students emerged victorious in an exciting match.
Tuesday was all about sports pride as students wore jerseys from their favorite teams for Jersey Day. Our softball and volleyball teams also played hard-fought games against Horizon High School, showing true Falcon determination and teamwork.
Wednesday was Twin Day, where students and staff paired up in matching outfits. The highlight of the day was the Booster Club tailgate, which brought everyone together before the thrilling Powderpuff football game. The juniors took on the seniors in a spirited match, and it was fantastic to see such strong participation.
On Thursday, students embraced the past for Throwback Thursday, dressing in styles from their favorite decades. We saw everything from ’60s flair to ’80s neon! Our soccer team also took to the field in a challenging match against Frederick. We also hosted our first round of Parent-Teacher Conference on Thursday. It was a good turnout and please remember we have another opportunity for you to attend on Thursday, October 17.
Friday was all about school spirit as students wore their class colors for Spirit Day, culminating in an energetic pep assembly that brought the entire student body together in celebration of Falcon pride. The excitement will continue with our home football game on Friday night, and we’ll wrap up the festivities with the Homecoming Dance on Saturday night.
It’s been an unforgettable week, and we are so proud of the enthusiasm and spirit shown by our students, staff, and community!
A quick reminder that we are halfway through the semester, with just nine and a half weeks remaining. Please encourage your students to regularly check Schoology and Infinite Campus for any missing assignments to ensure they stay on track and avoid surprises as we approach the end of the semester.

- St. Vrain Valley Education Foundation hosts a Gala in November
- Each year, the St. Vrain Valley Education Foundation hosts a gala in November to raise funds, which are then distributed throughout the district in the form of teacher grants. As part of the event, each school contributes a themed basket that attendees can bid on. This year, we are excited to create a basket for Skyline High School with the theme of Coffee and Chocolate, a perfect choice as we head into the fall season.
- We are reaching out to ask for your support in assembling this basket. Starting this week, we invite you to drop off donation items at our school by Friday, October 11, 2024. We are seeking contributions from each grade level as follows:
- 9th and 10th Grade Parents: Please consider donating gift cards from various coffee shops in any monetary amount (be sure to note the amount on the card). Examples include Ziggy’s, Dutch Brothers, Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, Caribou Coffee, or your favorite local coffee shop.
- 11th Grade Parents: We request donations of your favorite chocolate confections. This could include chocolate candies (such as Dove, Hershey’s, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory), brownie mix, cookie mix, or gift cards from local dessert shops.
- 12th Grade Parents: We are looking for fall-themed mugs, dessert plates, or any gift cards that can be used to purchase items for the basket.
- Your generosity greatly contributes to the success of our gala and supports our school community.
- Last year, the funds raised enabled three staff members to receive grants totaling over $2,000 for their classrooms.
- Thank you for your support and consideration. We look forward to working with you to make this year’s basket a success.
Animals on Campus: This is a reminder that animals are not allowed on the Skyline campus during school hours or at any extracurricular events. This policy is in place to ensure the safety of our students.
We are here to support you and your family. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of our administrative team.
Sincerely,
Anthony Barela
Principal, Skyline High School
