Message from Principal

Skyline Families,

As we step into mid-May, it’s hard to believe we’re in the final stretch of the school year! With just four days for seniors and two weeks for all students, now is the time to stay focused, support one another, and finish strong. Let’s make these last weeks our best yet!

Teacher Appreciation Week: This week, we celebrated Staff Appreciation Week — a wonderful opportunity to recognize the incredible teachers and staff who go above and beyond every day for our students. We invite you to take a moment to watch this special video highlighting Jennifer McLees, who has dedicated her life to making a difference in education.  In addition to this, Skyline staff Mike Aragon & Kendra Versoi represented us proudly at the Colorado Ignites conference—presenting to educators from across the nation on how we built our innovative unit recovery system.

Walk of Champions:  On Wednesday, we proudly celebrated our spring student-athletes who are headed to state competition with a Walk of Champions! This talented group includes our girls soccer team, boys who compete with the Longmont swim team, a student representing the district volleyball team, and our ultimate disc team. We’re so proud of their hard work and dedication — go Falcons!

Powerhouse:  Join us in celebrating Falcon standout Maya Cooper! Maya is a powerhouse in powerlifting — she currently holds 7 Colorado state records and recently shattered 11 more!

Enjoy an afternoon and evening filled with fantastic performances, a fun carnival atmosphere, and delicious food trucks. CLICK THIS LINK for all the event details — we can’t wait to see you there!

April Students of the Month: Please take a moment to read about our amazing Falcons who were honored this week as our April Students of the month.

April Student/Athletes of the month:  Please join us in congratulating our April student/athletes of the month who were selected by their teachers.

Mark your calendars:  Please mark your calendars for May 19, 2025 starting @ 3:15PM in Vance Brand Auditorium as we will be celebrating our student/athletes who will be competing at the collegiate level by holding a signing day celebration.

Last student days for CETC & IC:  CETC & IC last class days for underclassmen will be May 16th for A day students  and May 19th for B day students.  Seniors will finish all classes at the same time on May 15th.

Important iPad information: If your student is staying in SVVSD next academic school year, they will be taking their iPads home over the summer. If your student will be transferring out of SVVSD, iPads must be returned to the library by May 22, 2024. Parents may still purchase iPad insurance. Paying these fees will cover the iPad in case it gets damaged during the summer. Students’ current iPad insurance must be paid in full to be eligible for insurance the following year.

Did you know?: The St. Vrain Valley School District serves approximately 33,000 students and 5,500 employees.

Registration reminders:This is an exciting time as we get ready for the 2025-2026 school year, and we are here to support you every step of the way. Below are important dates and reminders to guide you and your student through the process.

  • May 15, 2025: Student Schedules Released.  Mark your calendars! Student schedules for the 2025-2026 school year will be available starting May 15, 2025.

Attendance:  Attendance is key to success.  We have limited time until the end of the school year.  Please make sure your students are here and on time.  Also, please remember that absences must be excused within 48 hours. If you have any questions or concerns, students should reach out to their assistant principal as soon as possible. Let’s work together to make prom a night to remember!

#WeAreSkylineEveryDay! Let’s soar to the finish, Falcons!

Kind regards,

Anthony Barela

Academic Support- End-of-Year Reminder: Let’s Finish Strong!

Skyline High School Parents and Guardians,

With only two weeks left in the school year, daily attendance is more important than ever. Regular attendance keeps students on track academically and supports a strong finish.

To help students succeed, we offer Free Tutoring!! with Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Martinez, Monday through Thursday in Room 250, from 2:50 PM to 3:50 PM. This is a great opportunity for students to catch up, receive extra help, and stay engaged.

Attendance Matters!

Whether an absence is excused or unexcused, students are still expected to complete all missed assignments. Please remind your student to check Schoology regularly for updates. Assignments are not automatically excused due to absences unless there is a prior plan in place with both the teacher and an administrator.

Thank you for your continued support. Let’s work together to help every Skyline student finish the year strong!
