Message from Principal
Dear Skyline Families,
We’re just one week away from Spring Break, and this is the perfect time to finish strong! When we return, there will be only nine weeks left in the school year—just seven and a half for our seniors. Let’s make every moment count and ensure everyone stays on track to finish successfully.
It’s been inspiring to see our students working hard, staying engaged, and making the most of every opportunity to grow. Their dedication and enthusiasm are truly remarkable! Let’s keep up the momentum, push through this final week before break, and come back ready to finish the year strong. We’re proud of our Falcons—let’s make it happen!

February Students of the month: Please join us in congratulating our February students of the month who were selected by their teachers.

February Student/Athletes of the month: Please join us in congratulating our February student/athletes of the month who were selected by their teachers.

Mariachi Shines: Our Skyline Mariachi group had an incredible week, showcasing their talent and hard work! Last Wednesday, they delivered a fantastic performance at the board meeting, representing our school with pride. Then on Saturday, we had the honor of hosting the CHSAA Mariachi Festival, where groups from across the state came together to celebrate this beautiful musical tradition. Both events were amazing and truly highlighted the dedication and passion of our students. We are so proud of them!

DECA Competes at the State Level: Our Skyline DECA Team was proudly represented at the Colorado DECA State Conference by D’Andre Lara, Ariday Landeros, and Marisol Sanchez (pictured below)! These three outstanding students showcased professionalism and energy while representing Skyline High School and St. Vrain Valley Schools. During the conference, they competed in Role Play competitions, engaged in conference activities and ceremonies, and participated in a meaningful workshop where they made a blanket for homeless children. Their hard work, dedication, and compassion truly embody the spirit of DECA and Skyline HS! Please join us in celebrating their amazing accomplishments!

FalconTech excels at CodeWars: Last weekend, five Skyline students showcased their coding skills at HP CodeWars in Fort Collins! Our students who competed were: Aiden Wessley, Adam Duncan, Isha Shah, Sarahi Jimenez and Wyatt Green. A huge congratulations to Aiden, Adam, and Wyatt, who brought home the 2nd place trophy in the advanced category! Our Skyline FalconTECH teams represented us proudly, demonstrating incredible teamwork and problem-solving skills. Way to go, Falcons!

La Raza Club: Recently, members of La Raza Club had the incredible opportunity to represent Skyline at the Youth Celebrate Diversity Conference. This event provided students with a meaningful space to embrace their unique identities, collaborate with peers from across the state, and develop leadership skills that will help shape their future. We’re proud of our students for engaging in this educational experience!

Falcon Performances: Skyline mariachi, strings and band took to the stage on Tuesday evening. Our talented choirs took the stage on Thursday and all of our groups delivered outstanding performances! Their talent, dedication, and hard work truly shined. Great job, Falcons!

Registration reminders: This is an exciting time as we get ready for the 2025-2026 school year, and we are here to support you every step of the way. Below are important dates and reminders to guide you and your student through the process.
- May 15, 2025: Student Schedules Released! Mark your calendars! Student schedules for the 2025-2026 school year will be available starting May 15, 2025.
Attendance Update: Attendance is essential for our students’ success. Starting this week, we will update our tardy policy: students with 5 tardies in a week will receive lunch detention. This averages to one tardy per day. These updated expectations were shared with students during advisory classes prior to break. Thank you for your support in reinforcing the importance of being on time!
Prom & Attendance: We want every student to have the opportunity to attend prom! To be eligible for the Junior/Senior Prom on Saturday, April 12, students must have no more than five days of unexcused absences (four period absences equal one full day) and/or 25 tardies starting from January 24, 2025, in the 12 weeks leading up to prom.
Please remember that absences must be excused within 48 hours. If you have any questions or concerns, students should reach out to their assistant principal as soon as possible. Let’s work together to make prom a night to remember!
Thank you for your continued partnership as we step into the new year with inspiration and purpose. Together, we’re creating a bright future for every student. Please remember to turn your clocks forward this weekend one hour as daylight savings time comes to an end.
#WeAreSkylineEveryDay
Sincerely,
Anthony Barela
