Message from Principal

Dear Skyline Families,

We hope you had a well-deserved break and enjoyed quality time with your families! As we return, time is flying—only eight weeks remain in the semester, and six and a half weeks for our seniors. This is the final stretch, and every moment counts!

Now is the time to focus on grades, attendance, and building strong habits to finish the year on a high note. We’ve seen incredible dedication from our students, and we know you have what it takes to push through and achieve your goals.

Let’s stay engaged during our final stretch for the semester, work hard, and make these last weeks truly count. We’re proud of our Falcons—let’s finish the year strong!

Skyline TOY announced: Please join the Skyline community in congratulating our 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year, Mr. Brian Crim! Your dedication and impact are truly inspiring—well deserved!

New baseball scoreboard dedication: We had a unique and special opportunity on Tuesday, March 25. Bill Stephens, former Skyline coach and recent inductee into the Colorado Baseball Hall of Fame, was invited to throw out the first pitch at our game to his son, Greg Stephens, who is retiring this year. The ceremonial pitch took place as a dedication of our new baseball scoreboard.  This was a fantastic opportunity, and we appreciate everyone who helped make it happen. A special thanks to our current baseball coach, Travis Schlagel, for bringing this idea forward.
New Skyline Stadium on the horizon:The Skyline Stadium kickoff meeting took place over spring break, bringing together the team to discuss the upcoming upgrades. With a targeted completion date set for the summer of 2026, exciting improvements are on the way!  A huge thank you to everyone involved in this project and to our community—your support in passing the bond has helped accelerate this process. We appreciate your commitment to enhancing Skyline’s facilities!

Save the Date:  Our spring play is almost here! Our talented students have been working hard and can’t wait to take the stage for Little Shop of Horrors. Mark your calendars and join us for an incredible performance on April 3rd & 4th at 7 PM, and April 5th at 2 PM and 7 PM. You won’t want to miss it!

Did you know?: The St. Vrain Valley School District has passed approximately 23 bills in the Colorado Legislature, continuing to strengthen public education in Colorado!

Registration reminders:This is an exciting time as we get ready for the 2025-2026 school year, and we are here to support you every step of the way. Below are important dates and reminders to guide you and your student through the process.

  • May 15, 2025: Student Schedules Released.  Mark your calendars! Student schedules for the 2025-2026 school year will be available starting May 15, 2025.

Attendance Update:  Attendance is essential for our students’ success. We updated our tardy policy: students with 5 tardies in a week will receive lunch detention. This averages to one tardy per day. These updated expectations were shared with students during advisory classes prior to break. Thank you for your support in reinforcing the importance of being on time!

Prom & Attendance:  We want every student to have the opportunity to attend prom! To be eligible for the Junior/Senior Prom on Saturday, April 12, students must have no more than five days of unexcused absences (four period absences equal one full day) and/or 25 tardies starting from January 24, 2025, in the 12 weeks leading up to prom.

Please remember that absences must be excused within 48 hours. If you have any questions or concerns, students should reach out to their assistant principal as soon as possible. Let’s work together to make prom a night to remember!

Thank you for your continued partnership as we step into the new year with inspiration and purpose. Together, we’re creating a bright future for every student.  Please remember to turn your clocks forward this weekend one hour as daylight savings time comes to an end.

#WeAreSkylineEveryDay

Sincerely,
Anthony Barela
