Message from Principal
Dear Skyline Families,
It’s incredible to see our students diving into their classes with such enthusiasm! This week, we continued the semester with more learning, giving students valuable time to connect with teachers and deepen their learning. It’s been amazing to watch so many of them seize this semester and new opportunities to strengthen their skills and grow. Their renewed commitment is truly inspiring, and we’re excited to keep supporting and pushing them toward excellence throughout this semester!
Falcons Demonstrate Excellence:
Last Wednesday evening at the board meeting, our student representative, Blake Baker, along with other students from across the district, shared with the SVVSD board the incredible learning experiences they gained at the CASB conference earlier this year. Blake represented Skyline with true Falcon Pride and Excellence!

Last Saturday was another fantastic day for Skyline as our students braved the snowstorm to compete at CU’s Model United Nations (MUN) conference. Over the weekend, Ash Berkowitz, Travis Hadley, and Halston Kueper represented Skyline with excellence, competing alongside 150 student delegates from 35 schools at Colorado University’s High School Model United Nations competition in Boulder, CO. A huge congratulations to Ash Berkowitz, who earned the top prize of the conference: Best Overall Delegate—an extraordinary achievement for both Ash and Skyline! Well done to our talented Falcons!

On Monday night, we were proud to have a strong showing of Falcon choir students who earned the honor of participating in the SVVSD Honor Choir concert at Erie High School. Please join us in congratulating the following Mixed Choir participants:
- Anni Haakenson (Senior)
- Denver Alexander (Senior)
- Andrew Archer (Senior)

This averages to one tardy per day. These updated expectations were shared with students during advisory classes prior to break. Thank you for your support in reinforcing the importance of being on time!
Prom & Attendance Update: Any students who are planning on attending the Junior/Senior Prom on Saturday, April 12 will be allowed to have no more than 5 days of unexcused absences (4 period absences equals 1 day) and/or 25 tardies beginning January 24, 2025 in the 12 weeks leading up to Prom. Reminder, absences must be excused within 48 hours of the absence.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we step into the new year with inspiration and purpose. Together, we’re creating a bright future for every student. Wishing you all a joyful and successful 2025!

Sincerely,
Anthony Barela
