Message from Principal
Dear Falcon Parents and Guardians,
What a fantastic week to wrap up an amazing semester as we head into winter break! I want to thank each of you for your incredible support and dedication—it truly makes all the difference. As we step into the holiday season, I hope you take time to relax, recharge, and enjoy your wonderful families. You’ve earned it! Wishing you a joyful and restful break.
Last week was filled with incredible accomplishments by our students!
- Johnny Sanchez and Fernando Gurrola from our VPA Academy were named to the Colorado All-State Top Ensemble orchestra as violinists—an outstanding achievement!
- Sarah Miller, one of our exceptional students, was recognized as the Longmont Rotary Student of the Month for Skyline. (Click here to read about student)
- Several students participated in the Colorado Thespian Conference, showcasing their talents and passion for the arts.
- A group of student leaders presented to Leadership St. Vrain last Friday and absolutely shined with their insights and poise.
- Senior wrestler Brody Hufford hit a major milestone, achieving 100 Varsity wins—congratulations, Brody!
- Our dedicated students, along with the amazing booster club, brought their creativity and spirit to the Longmont Parade of Lights.
- Another group of student leaders hosted a soup luncheon to raise funds for those in need—a meaningful way to give back.
ACCESS Testing
*Tuesday, 1/14- Listening, Reading, Writing tests during B5 and B6. Testing will take place in the gym for most students, and our newer students will test in classrooms with their ELD teacher.
*Wednesday, 1/15-Friday 1/17 + Monday, 1/27- Speaking tests- students will be called individually to the library to complete the speaking test.
Questions about the test- contact Ms. Heiser via email (heiser_sandy@svvsd.org) or cell (720-442-3113) -se habla español.
Tardy Policy:
Attendance is essential for our students’ success. Starting the week back from break, we will update our tardy policy: students with 5 tardies in a week will receive lunch detention. This averages to one tardy per day. These updated expectations were shared with students during advisory classes this week. Thank you for your support in reinforcing the importance of being on time!
As we wrap up the semester, we couldn’t be prouder of our students’ dedication and accomplishments. At Skyline, we are committed to fostering both academic excellence and personal growth, and your support plays a vital role in our success.
A reminder: Winter break runs from Friday, December 20, 2024, through Monday, January 6, 2025. Students will return to school on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.Let’s keep the inspiration going as we step into the new year! Together, we’re creating a bright future for every student, and your partnership and support make it all possible. Wishing you all a joyful holiday season and a Happy New Year! #WeAreSkylineEveryDay
Sincerely,
Anthony Barela
