Message from Principal

Dear Falcon Parents and Guardians,

We’ve had another fantastic week of learning, and we greatly appreciate your continued support as we kick off the school year. Our commitment to your child’s success remains our top priority.

We’re excited to invite you to our Back to School Night next Wednesday. The event will start at 5:30 PM with a brief introduction, followed by an open period until 7:00 PM. This is a great opportunity for parents and students to visit our clubs and meet teachers in their classrooms.

It’s wonderful to have students back in school five days a week. Their positive energy is invigorating, and we’re grateful for the chance to work with them and with you every day.

Skyline VPA Students Shine Nationally: We are thrilled to share that our four students who participated in the International Thespian Festival this summer excelled on the national stage. Sophomore Raine Schwartz earned the prestigious Critic’s Choice and a THESPY (akin to a National Championship Ring) for her costume construction of Lydia Deetz’s dress from Beetlejuice the Musical. Juniors Denver Alexander and Annika Haakenson received a combined 24 callbacks from top universities for their performing arts programs and scholarships. Senior Heidi Kurjak, who will be attending UNC for Vocal Music this fall, received an Excellent Rating for her solo performance of “In My Dreams” from Anastasia the Musical. Please join us in congratulating these outstanding students, who exemplify excellence in theatre.

Code of Conduct: Instructions on accessing and completing the St. Vrain Valley Schools Code of Conduct were shared earlier this week. Please review these instructions and complete the process for your student on Infinite Campus.

Skyline Student of the Month Awards: This year, we will recognize students who demonstrate excellence and are nominated by their teachers. Parents will receive an email each month announcing the award recipients.

We are here to support you and your family. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any member of our administrative team.

Sincerely,

Anthony Barela
Principal, Skyline High School

Code of Conduct

Thank you for your partnership and supporting the academic growth, safety, and well-being of our students. Every year, St. Vrain Valley Schools prints an up-to-date version of the Code of Conduct for students and families to review. This important document guides students and school staff on what expectations for school conduct and the consequences for behaviors that fall outside of those expectations. It is important that families review this information every year and acknowledge their receipt and understanding of this document. Please click on this LINK to access the entire document and follow the directions to complete it.

  • When making a cash payment in the office please make sure to bring exact amount (no change available) credit or debit preferred. You can also pay Fees online through Infinite Campus portal.
  • Parents and guardians who would like information to assist you with particular parenting conversations or additional support of your child, please contact the counselor at your school.

Attendance and Academics

Why Is Attendance Important?
* Academic performance: Students attending school regularly are more likely to
pass assessments, achieve higher levels, and graduate. Chronic absenteeism,
defined as missing 10% of school days (absent 2 days a month), can lead to
lower academic achievement, failure, and dropout.
* Social skills: School is a place to network and meet new people.
* Personal growth: Regular attendance helps students progress and ensures they
don’t miss significant knowledge or skills.

It’s going to be a great year!

iPad Refresh and Insurance

This fall, all SVVSD students will be exchanging their iPads for new ones. This exchange took place the first week of school through their English class. If you didn’t make the exchange in your class go to the Library and make that exchange. In order for this exchange to go smoothly, your student needs to do the following at home before the exchange. We will not be able to wait for them to back up when they come in to exchange their iPad. Last day to exchange your iPad will be Friday, August 30th.

We recommend purchasing iPad insurance to ensure your child’s device is protected throughout the school year. You can make an online payment with card in Infinite Campus under “Fees.” If you prefer to pay in person at the office we take credit/debit cards (preferred) or have exact cash payment (no change available at the office) due by September 15th. Click here to review iPad insurance and repair guidelines.
