Message from Principal

Dear Skyline Families,

As we approach the final stretch of the semester, we encourage our students to stay focused on academic progress, maintain strong attendance, and develop productive habits that will set them up for a successful finish. With only seven weeks remaining in the semester—and five and a half for our seniors—each day presents an opportunity for growth and achievement.

To support students in this final phase, we will be holding class meetings throughout April:

  • Seniors will meet on April 9th to review key dates and important information for the remainder of the year.
  • Freshmen and Sophomores will have meetings during their classes on April 7th and April 8th to reinforce expectations and support their academic success.
  • Juniors will meet on April 30th as we begin preparing for their transition into Senior year.

We appreciate your partnership in supporting your student’s success. Please encourage them to stay engaged, complete assignments on time, and seek support when needed. Your involvement plays a vital role in helping them finish the year strong and prepared for the next steps in their academic journey. Thank you for your continued support—we look forward to celebrating their hard work and accomplishments in the weeks ahead!

Attendance Update:  Attendance is essential for our students’ success. Starting this week, we will update our tardy policy: students with 5 tardies in a week will receive lunch detention. This averages to one tardy per day. These updated expectations were shared with students during advisory classes prior to break. Thank you for your support in reinforcing the importance of being on time!

Prom & Attendance:  We want every student to have the opportunity to attend prom! To be eligible for the Junior/Senior Prom on Saturday, April 12, students must have no more than five days of unexcused absences (four period absences equal one full day) and/or 25 tardies starting from January 24, 2025, in the 12 weeks leading up to prom.

Please remember that absences must be excused within 48 hours. If you have any questions or concerns, students should reach out to their assistant principal as soon as possible. Let’s work together to make prom a night to remember!

Important Testing Dates:   As we approach the final stretch of the 2024-2025 school year, we want to highlight the importance of upcoming state assessments and the valuable opportunity they provide for students to demonstrate their learning and academic growth. These assessments serve as key indicators of the knowledge and skills students have developed throughout the year, and we encourage all students to give their best effort.

*Please take note of the important information and testing dates below
