Message from Principal
Dear Falcon Parents/Guardians,
Our Falcons made the most of this short week in their classrooms. In science, students engaged in the design process, building prototypes to see if they could land a rocket on a planet. In Spanish, students continued expanding their vocabulary in a second language, culminating in presentations where they applied their new vocabulary to meet speaking objectives. During Wednesday’s late start meeting, our staff collaborated to enhance their skills by implementing Thinking Maps, which help students organize their thoughts and transition them into writing to strengthen critical thinking.
Last Friday night was a historic moment as our marching band delivered their inaugural halftime performance. We are extremely proud of them! Meanwhile, our talented Junie B. Jones cast and crew are working diligently to prepare for their upcoming performances. Our Falcon athletic teams continue to compete with pride. This week, we played our fourth volleyball game of the season. Our cross-country team also had a great start, competing in their first meet. Our soccer program, consisting of four teams (Varsity, JV, C & D), is off to a strong start, facing one of the toughest schedules in the state. Though our football team fought bravely against Silver Creek last Friday, they came up short. Our cheerleaders did an excellent job with their cheers and halftime performance. Please encourage your students to get involved in our school activities!

iPad Refresh and Insurance
This fall, all SVVSD students will be exchanging their iPads for new ones. This exchange took place the first week of school through their English class. If you didn’t make the exchange in your class go to the Library and make that exchange. In order for this exchange to go smoothly, your student needs to do the following at home before the exchange. We will not be able to wait for them to back up when they come in to exchange their iPad. Last Final day to exchange your iPad will be Wednesday, September 11th.
We recommend purchasing iPad insurance to ensure your child’s device is protected throughout the school year. You can make an online payment with card in Infinite Campus under “Fees.” If you prefer to pay in person at the office we take credit/debit cards (preferred) or have exact cash payment (no change available at the office) due by September 15th. Click here to review iPad insurance and repair guidelines.
