Back to School Principal’s Update

Dear Skyline Parents and Guardians,

Warm greetings and a heartfelt welcome back to the Skyline High School community! As the summer draws to a close and the halls begin to buzz with the excitement of a new school year, we are thrilled to reconnect with each and every one of you. Whether you are returning families or new faces to our school, we are delighted to have you as part of our Falcon Family.

The past year has been unlike any other, and I want to express my gratitude for the unwavering support, flexibility, and resilience you all have shown throughout the challenges we faced. Your partnership and dedication to your child’s education played an integral role in maintaining a strong sense of unity within our school community.

This upcoming school year promises to be a period of renewal and rejuvenation. Our faculty and staff have been working diligently to prepare an engaging and enriching academic experience for our students. We are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment that fosters intellectual growth, emotional well-being, and social development.

Throughout the year, you can look forward to a myriad of opportunities for parental involvement, from parent-teacher conferences and workshops to school events and community initiatives. We value your input and collaboration, as together we can ensure the best possible educational journey for our students.

Please stay connected with us through our school’s communication channels, including our website (www.shs.svvsd.org), newsletters, and social media platforms. We believe in open lines of communication and are here to address any questions, concerns, or ideas you may have.

See below for important information about the upcoming school year.

Thank you for choosing Skyline as your partner in education. Here’s to a successful and inspiring year ahead!

Tardy Policy

Students who receive more than 5 tardies in a week will be required to serve a detention after school on Fridays.  Communication about this will be sent to students and parents early in the week so students know if they have a detention.  As always, please contact our attendance office if a tardy should be excused.

Universal Breakfast and Lunch

Nutrition Services is excited to share that all students will receive one free breakfast and lunch each school day through Colorado Department of Education’s Healthy School Meals for All program starting this school year.

Given this change, it is still important for St. Vrain Valley Schools to gather household income information to support after school activities and nutritional programs. All families who believe they may qualify for free or reduced-price meals are encouraged to fill out an application. Applications are continuously accepted and processed throughout the school year and families are invited to apply or reapply at any time. Families who qualify for free or reduced-price meals receive benefits including fee waivers for school and preschool programming, and discounts on SAT and ACT exams and college applications, utilities and internet service, and participation in community organizations like sports and YMCA programs.

St. Vrain schools also benefit when families submit their free or reduced-price meal applications. Schools receive an increase in federal dollars for student and classroom support, school programs during and after-school, preschool programs, technology, and additional snacks and meals at no cost to all families outside of normal school hours.

The application is completely confidential and not shared with any other agency or organization. Fill out an online application today.

St. Vrain Valley Schools’ Nutrition Services Department looks forward to another successful year serving our students, teachers, and staff. Please reach out to our department with questions at 303-702-7793 or [email protected].
