Athletic Training & First Aid
This course is a one semester class that introduces students to athletic training procedures as they relate to the athlete, physical educator, coach, and athletic trainer. The course includes a history of the athletic training profession, ethics, proper recording of injuries, taping, and the principles of athletic training. Topics covered in this class include a general overview of all aspects of athletic training prevention and treatment of common to acute and overuse injuries and general anatomy. Students will also complete the American Red Cross Curriculum for First Aid and CPR for Adults and Infants and upon successful completion, they will be awarded a 2 year certification.
