Message from Principal

Dear Skyline Families,

As we head into March, I want to take a moment to recognize the hard work and dedication our students have shown this semester. With just two weeks until Spring Break, now is the time to stay focused, push through challenges, and finish strong. These next two weeks are crucial for maintaining momentum, and I encourage all students to give their best effort in class, stay on top of assignments, and take advantage of available support. Let’s keep up the hard work and make the most of this time!

Our winter sports wrapped up their seasons this past week, and we couldn’t be prouder of our incredible student-athletes! Their hard work, dedication, and team spirit have been truly inspiring.

We are excited to announce that a second team from Skyline has qualified for the state robotics tournament! WaveLength (picture below), made up of Benji Eamon, AJ Fruvellhoff, Abdullah Haseeb, Jackson Holliness, Mason Stromquist, and Matt Wittrock, will be competing at the state level. Please join us in congratulating them on this incredible achievement!

On Monday, we kicked off the spring sports season, and we encourage all students to get involved! Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or looking to try something new, now is the perfect time to join a team and be part of the excitement.

A huge shoutout to our Unified Basketball players, who finished their season on Saturday as we hosted schools from across the district for our Days of Champions—a fantastic celebration of teamwork and inclusion!

Looking ahead, we’re thrilled to welcome Mariachi groups from across the state as we host the CHSAA Mariachi Festival right here at Skyline this Saturday, starting at 8:30 AM. Don’t miss this amazing event filled with music, culture, and community!

Registration reminders:This is an exciting time as we get ready for the 2025-2026 school year, and we are here to support you every step of the way. Below are important dates and reminders to guide you and your student through the process.

  • May 15, 2025: Student Schedules Released.  Mark your calendars! Student schedules for the 2025-2026 school year will be available starting May 15, 2025.

Attendance Update:  Attendance is essential for our students’ success. Starting this week, we will update our tardy policy: students with 5 tardies in a week will receive lunch detention. This averages to one tardy per day. These updated expectations were shared with students during advisory classes prior to break. Thank you for your support in reinforcing the importance of being on time!

Prom & Attendance:  Any students who are planning on attending the Junior/Senior Prom on Saturday, April 12  will be allowed to have no more than 5 days of unexcused absences (4 period absences equals 1 day) and/or 25 tardies beginning January 24, 2025  in the 12 weeks leading up to Prom.  Reminder, absences must be excused within 48 hours of the absence.

Thank you for your continued partnership as we step into the new year with inspiration and purpose. Together, we’re creating a bright future for every student. Wishing you all a joyful and successful 2025!
