Winter Principal Update

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

Welcome back to second semester!  After a very successful fall filled with success both on the academic front (we have a Boettcher semi-finalist and many students already receiving awards and scholarships!) and athletic field (our softball and soccer teams went to the state playoffs!) we are ready to begin the spring.  Here are a few reminders and upcoming events.

Make-A-Wish Foundation Fundraiser

Skyline High School and Student Council are excited to be supporting a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation during the month of January.  Our goal is to raise $7000 to support a 9 year old girl from Ft. Collins that we have adopted.  Brittany has ALL (Acute Lymphoid Leukemia) and her wish is to visit Vietnam where her family is from. Here are a few opportunities to support this cause:

  • Food Nights - each of the following restaurants will donate a percentage of their earnings on these nights when customers mention Skyline HS!
    • Nicolo's Pizza - Tuesday 1/20 – 4:00-9:00
    • Menchies - Wednesday 1/28 - all day
  • District Talent Show - Wednesday 1/21 - 6:00 - 9:00 - Come and support SHS students as they go up against other district schools to compete in this district-wide talent show!
  • Silent Auction – During the Talent Show on Wednesday, 1/21 we will be hosting a silent auction - If you have items to donate, please contact Julia Truesdale if you have any items you would like to donate:
  • Home Basketball Games - We will have donation buckets and contests during home basketball games to donate to the cause - come support SHS Basketball as well as Make-A-Wish!

Thank you for your support of this great cause!

Registration for classes for 2015-2016 School Year

Unbelievably, we are in the midst of planning for next year!  Current students will receive their course selection sheets on March 5th and will have one week to complete their requests.  Please speak with your student about making good choices for next year and encourage them to challenge themselves.  More information will be shared with students in their classes over the next couple of months.

Parking Lot

We are in communication with the school district to improve the layout and function of our parking lot in the near future.  We know that parking can be frustrating for parents and students, but we would ask for your patience as we work towards an improved arrangement that will benefit all.

For any of you that have a Twitter account, I encourage you to follow me at @SHS_Principal.   The feed can also be found on our website. Anyone is welcome to follow!  And don’t forget to bookmark and go there often to find important information regarding academics and upcoming events.

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held February 26, from 3:30 – 8:00 and March 12, from 3:00- 8:00
