The St. Vrain Valley Schools’ Senior Volunteer Program is once again available for the 2017-2018 school year. The program began in November 2012 to welcome seniors and individuals with disabilities into our schools and provide them financial assistance with their county property taxes. Up to 200 participants will be paid a maximum of 40 hours at $10.20 per hour for a total of $408 between January 2, 2018 and April 30, 2018.

In this month's issue of the Family Connections Newsletter, we explore Inquiry-Based Learning, Thinking Differently About Digital Devices, and visit with one of our schools as they learn about Slam Poetry with local expert Joaquin Zihuatanejo in partnership with High Plains Library System.
The Skyline Falconbots' (Robotics Team) robot took 4th Place out of 30 and the team placed 4th in the BEST Award Competition at the Rocky Mountain BEST Robotics Competition October 21 at the Auraria Event Center at Denver Metro. The BEST Award is comprised of the robot competition, engineering notebook, marketing presentation, exhibit booth presentation, and sportsmanship.
Best Class Picture will be here to take the panoramic senior picture on Tuesday, October 24th. Students will be excused to the large gym at 9:45am. If your student has a free block, be sure they report to the large gym by 9:45am. Students will receive ordering information on picture day so they do not need to bring money to school. Pictures may be ordered by mail or online at www.BestClassPicture.com. Orders will be mailed to the students' homes three to four weeks after the pictures are taken.
Parents, you are invited to Coffee with the Principal on Thursday, October 19th from 7:45am - 8:30am in the Skyline Library. Topics include "Getting Involved with Skyline: Extracurricular and Beyond", and "What Your Student Needs to Know to be Successful in His or Her Grade Level". Come enjoy coffee and donuts and chat with Principal Ringer and other Skyline representatives. Questions Welcome!
