February 13, 2017, 8:48am By Kimberly Wiggins and Doug Morland, Assessment Coordinators, St Vrain Valley School District
On April 11, 2017, all sophomores and juniors in Colorado will be taking the PSAT 10 and SAT at their home schools. The good news? It’s free! AND you don’t have to do a thing to register. But wait … there’s more! Millions of dollars in scholarships (yes, millions…) are tied to both assessments, so even if you’re not 100% sure about your after-high-school plans, still use this time to prepare just in case - they’re there anyways, might as well get the most you can out of it!
Thank you for your continued partnership in making St. Vrain Valley Schools such an exceptional community for our students to thrive.
This message is a follow-up to this morning’s transportation delays due to the power outages and grass fires that occurred west of Longmont. St. Vrain bus routes will operate on a normal schedule this afternoon.
St. Vrain would like to commend our students and staff for following all safety protocols. We would also like to thank the local emergency responders for their quick response.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to advance the well-being and academic success of our students. We are very fortunate to have such committed families, outstanding students and dedicated teachers and staff that make our community a highly engaging and supportive environment for our children to thrive.
The Longmont Public Library will house a special exhibit featuring the work of Skyline High School's artists this month. You can meet the artists at a special open house this Friday, February 2, 2017 from 4:00 to 5:00 PM in the Longmont library. See the library's site for more details.
Due to deteriorating road conditions, the district is implementing a delayed start for TODAY, February 2. A delayed start means that schools and busses will begin 2.5 hours later than regularly scheduled start times. School days delayed due to inclement weather also require the following service adjustments:
Congratulations to Ms. Kelly Bates, SED teacher, and Ms. Stephanie Texera, Director of Bands and VPA Academy Co-Coordinator, for being awarded Skyline's Falcon of the Month. Both Ms. Bates and Ms. Texera bring intense passion and commitment to their roles and care deeply and sincerely for their students.
