Martha earned her Bachelors of Arts in Secondary English Education from Wartburg College and her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas. She is a licensed Clinical Social Worker with 17 years of experience providing direct clinical service, support, and intervention to diverse individuals, groups, and families withing correctional settings, residential treatment environments, and a public school system. She has expertise working with adolescents who struggle with social, emotional, educational, and behavioral problems including mental health diagnoses. Her experience includes a professional specialty in the treatment of juvenile sex offenders. She also has significant experience in educating, directing, and managing clinical teams, providing clinical supervision and consultation, and mentoring new employees. In addition, she develops lessons and presentations, to help students and colleagues develop awareness, understanding, and intervention in the area of social, emotional, and mental health and wellbeing.
