Jennifer Dunbar

My name is Jennifer Dunbar.  We moved back to Colorado with our three kids in 2016, after my husband retired as a pilot for NOAA.  I began my career as an ESL teacher in Madrid, Spain, and as a college English instructor near Seattle, WA.  I have worked as a writer, editor, public relations director, and as a project manager.  I've written award-winning screenplays and also wrote, directed, and produced a short film featured at the Denver Emerging Filmmakers Project & Colorado Independent Women's Film Festival.

In 2016-2017, I was a para-educator at Centennial Middle School in Boulder, and it truly re-awakened my passion for teaching and my desire to be in the classroom with students every day.  I decided to go back to school so that I could begin my dream career as a high school English teacher.  I love Skyline and cherish each day with my 9th/10th graders and my yearbook staff.

Originally from the San Francisco Bay area, I have lived in Madrid, Spain, and traveled all over the world.  I have also lived in Boston, New York, Seattle, Tampa Bay, St. Louis, MO, and Bethesda, MD.  I now call Boulder my permanent home.
