The continued safety, well-being, and success of our students, teachers, staff, and community has always been our top priority as we navigate the complex and evolving coronavirus crisis. To this end, we are updating our reopening plan to begin the school year in a fully online-learning model for all students which will continue through the last week of September. All students in grades 1-12 will begin on August 18, kindergarten students will begin on August 20.
La seguridad continúa, el bienestar, y el éxito de nuestros estudiantes, maestros, empleados, y la comunidad siempre ha sido nuestra prioridad más importante a manera que enfrentamos la compleja y evolucionante crisis del coronavirus. Con este fin, estamos actualizando nuestro plan de reapertura para comenzar este año escolar en un modelo de instrucción completamente en línea para estudiantes hasta finales de septiembre. Hemos actualizado el calendario para que todos los estudiantes en los grados 1-12 comiencen el 18 de agosto, los estudiantes de jardin de infantes comenzarán el 20 de agosto.
Heidi Ringer, Principal
Heidi Ringer holds a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an M.A. in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Colorado at Denver. Heidi taught mathematics at Skyline High School for 10 years and was the mathematics co-department chair for five of those years. She was the recipient of the Presidential Award in Mathematics and Science Teaching in 2006. After accepting the job as an assistant principal in 2007, she coordinated the implementation of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and VPA (Visual & Performing Arts) Academies which began in the fall of 2009. Heidi was named Principal of Skyline High school in January of 2013.
Jennifer Piggott, Dean of Students
Jen attended the University of Wyoming where she received her Bachelors in Business Administration. She went on to earn her Masters in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Colorado. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and watching her three children participate in their various activities. She also enjoys kickboxing, Crossfit, and keeping up with activities related to the Girls Who Code organization.
Laurieann Henderson, Assistant Principal
Laurieann holds a BA in Deaf Education and Elementary education from the Minot State University. Next, she obtained her Masters in Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado. She furthered her education at the University of Phoenix to acquire her Principal licensure followed by attaining a Special Education Director licensure from the University of Northern Colorado. Laurieann started her administrative career in 2004 and has experience at both the district and school level. She is excited about working and living in the St. Vrain Valley School District. She started at Skyline in 2013.
Chris Gardner, Assistant Principal
Chris holds a B. A. in Mathematical Sciences from The College of Wooster and a M. A. in Educational Administration & Supervision from the University of Phoenix. He taught high school mathematics for 14 years; four years in his home state of Ohio and ten years in SVVSD. He was also the SVVSD summer school principal for five years. He was named Dean of Students at Skyline in 2013 and Assistant Principal in 2018.
Greg Stephens, Assistant Principal and P-TECH Administrator
12th grade (A - He)
Greg holds a B.A. in History from the University of Colorado-Boulder and an M.A. in Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix. Greg taught Opportunity School and Social Studies for twelve years at Skyline before being named an Assistant Principal in 2009. Greg has fifteen years of coaching experience of various sports, including stints as the head softball coach as well as the head baseball coach at Skyline High School. Greg is an alumni of Skyline High School (Class of '91) and is proud to be part of the 'Falcon Family'.
Michael Green, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director
12th grade (Hi - Z)
Michael holds a BA in Physical education from the University of Northern Colorado. He holds a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado. Michael has taught Physical Education, Health and Strength Training for 19 years at the high school level. He has over 20 years of coaching experience in Basketball, Football, and Track as a Head Coach. In addition to his coaching and teaching career, Michael has been an Athletic Director for the past 10 years.
In 2007, he took an administrative position at Rifle High as the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director. He takes over at Skyline High School in the same capacity and is eager to lead the athletic department in a new direction with a vision for future success both on and off the field of competition.
